What is Video Conferencing?

A video conference is a live, audio-visual connection between two or more people in different locations. (Conferences can be audio only).

It can be as simple as providing transmission of static images and texts or as sophisticated as transmitting high quality video and audio between multiple locations.

The use of video conferencing can save money on travel costs, save time travelling to destinations and most importantly, it can help reduce the carbon footprint of yourself and The University as a whole.

Media Services can provide video conferencing for a variety of different events including:

  • Meetings
  • Lectures
  • Phd VIVA
  • Interviews
  • Research group collaboration
  • Conference appearances

Media Services can help you connect to and involve anyone outside of the University to make your event run as smoothly as possible, whether in Manchester or anywhere else in the world.
